Zephyrhills, Florida: The City of Pure Water
Semi-rural “Z-hills” known for its pastoral cattle ranches, colorful citrus groves sits about 35 miles northeast of the Tampa International Airport and the Port of Tampa. The second largest city in Pasco County, it has a population of 51,000 year-round residents which swells to about 86,000 when the snow-birds arrive. Pure spring water (Zephyrhills Bottled Water) is drawn from seven wells, bottled and sold around the world, putting the city on the map to those not exposed to its winter warmth. Others have come to know Zephyrhills through its excellent year round skydiving facilities or its well maintained municipal airport. Several newspapers serve the city; a weekly paper has supported the community for nine decades.
